Rooftop guardrail Oberig

Rooftop guardrail is a vertical safety element of the roof, designed to ensure the safety of people when moving along the roof and prevent them from falling during repair, operation and maintenance of the roof.

Rooftop guardrails are installed along the edge of the roof along its entire perimeter.

From a technical point of view, rooftop guardrail is a low fence consisting of racks connected at several levels by horizontal rails with special elements for secure fastening to the roof.ы

DBN norms for rooftop guardrails (Ukraine).

According to DBN V.2.6-14-97 «Construction of buildings and structures. Roofing of buildings and structures»

Installation of the rooftop guardrails is mandatory on buildings:

with a roof slope of up to 12% and a height to the cornice or top of the outer wall (up stand wall) more than 10 m
with a roof slope over 12% and a height to the cornice more than 7 m

Requirements for the design of the rooftop guardrails:

rooftop guardrail height is min 0.6 m
can withstand a load of 0.3 kn/m
distance between rack supports max 1.2 m
distance between rack supports and the roof overhang min 35 cm
distance between horizontal elements max 30 cm

Features of Oberig Rooftop Guardrails

All elements of the railing system have: ✔zinc coating ✔powder coating according to RAL chart.

Rooftop guardrail rack

The racks are demountable; consist of three parts, which are compactly folded into one another.
The elements of the rack are U-shaped, which renders higher strength, compared with a flat bar or a corner.
Fixing bushings are used to connect the parts of the rack to each other, which increases the rigidity of the structure.

Two types of racks are available:

With solid support

Used for roof decking or a roof batten spacing of 350 mm:

metal roof tiles with a standard tile of 350 mm
seam roof (kit for fastening to the seam is required)
bitumen roof tiles
corrugated deck
sandwich panels (installation along the wave)

With divided support

It is used for various types of roofs with a roof batten spacing different from 350 mm:

metal roof tiles with a non-standard tile
stone-coated metal tiles
corrugated deck
ceramic and polymer tiles
sandwich panels (installation across the wave)

Handrails:

Tubes with a diameter of 25 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm, length 3 m.
There is also a corner element.
The tubes have swage joints and are additionally tightened with a bolt and nut. The tubes are slided into the holes of the racks and fixed with self-tapping screws.
Shipped with all necessary fasteners.

Fasteners for a snow guard or racks bracket for corrugated decks, metal tiles, slates, ondulin, soft bitumen tiles and all types of flat-deck roofs.

Fasteners for a snow guard or racks bracket for a seam roof (brackets in the color of the fence).

Fasteners for assembling the supports of the guardrail.

Fasteners for assembling tubes, handrails and rotary elements (self-tapping screws in the color of the fence).

Set of rubber sealing gaskets for shingles with a tile above 20 mm. Sold separately.

Fasteners for sandwich panels.
